I made this cake once again yesterday…really enjoyed doing it. The basic cake is an orange flavoured sponge from a book by Sue Ross. It’s sandwiched with an almond whipped cream & topped with a dark chocolate ganache…really excellent. I made the one below using this recipe for the first time… A Chocolate Orange Gateau. The word excellent has reminded me of some urgent & overdue stuff to be done. I have received this lovely award three times; once each from Susan @ Food Blogga, Joy @ Joy the Baker & from Andrew @ New Cook……THANK YOU to all of you; each time I receive it makes me feel even more special. • Mike @ Mike’s Table…from seductive strawberries to home-made mango ice-cream to die for; he’s rocking the blogosphere!
• Marie @ Proud Italian Cook…we shared serendipity (thanks to Amy). Her blog’s home to Italian cuisine which never fails to impress.
• Ann @ Redacted Recipes…reflecting an eclectic mix of a Brit & American in Brooklyn, Ann’s blog has plenty of surprises with blasts from the past too. Cake with oats? Got ya thinking, didn’t I?
• Arundhati @ Escapades…if you want to escape the mundane world, get to Arundhati’s. I’ve got to try her Star Anise ice-cream which has haunted me for a while, & then she posted some great mango pickle. I hope to catch up one day, unless she’s gallant enough to mail me a jar (hint,hint)!!
• Miri @ Peppermill…if she’s not roasting the peppers & serving them with applomb, she’s churning out tales from days gone by. Connecting food to memories of childhood summers…that’s Miri!!
